With the generous support of our family, friends and the softball community, we have been able to establish the McKenzie Travis Educational Foundation and through that a scholarship fund in loving memory of our daughter/sister, McKenzie. McKenzie was killed in a car accident January 22, 2006, at nineteen years old and is missed every day. This scholarship fund enables us to keep McKenzie's memory alive in a way that has great meaning for our family while promoting education and athletics.

Through June 2011, we have awarded a total of $178,500 to 77 outstanding female athletes to support their collegiate endeavors. In 2012, we intend to award an additional $70,000 as follows: One $12,500, Two $10,000 and Twenty $2,500 scholarships for school year 2012/13. Scholarship eligibility criteria, application form and additional information can be found below:

Eligibility Criteria –

** High School Senior, Graduating 2012

  • Must currently play varsity softball for your high school team
  • Must have already been accepted to college and intending to play softball in college i.e. – already recruited or planning to try out as a walk on
  • Minimum Cumulative 2.75 GPA
  • Must have played in the Delaware Invitational Tournament previously or playing on a team registered to play July 20-22, 2012
  • Must have demonstrated Community Service, Volunteerism

 **OR Already Playing in a College Program -
entering Sophomore, Junior or Senior Year

  • Must have played in the Delaware Invitational Tournament
  • Minimum Collegiate Cumulative 2.75 GPA
  • Must have demonstrated Community Service, Volunteerism
